Circles and spirals

CIRCLES AND SPIRALS

The art of Brajo Fuso at the beginning of the 1950s exploded with the informal gesturality, a stylistic trend recalling spirals and circular shapes. With these whirls, he unintentionally intercepted some features of Spatialism, a technique used by Lucio Fontana in Milan during those years.

Simultaneously, in Umbria, Futurist Aeropainting artists such as Gerardo Dottori and Alessandro Bruschetti represented, using the same technique, the acrobatic flight of an aeroplane over the Trasimeno Lake, from which they learnt new landscape perspectives. Brajo Fuso certainly knew Dottori and admired his painting.
