Alessandra Faleggi, born in 1969, self-taught artist, passionate about photography and découpage, enters the world of analog collage as a creative response to a personal urgency, discovering a new communicative approach that has become a real daily “engine”.

A second life to old images, through mixed media, with the use of vintage magazine clippings, fragments of posters, pieces of cloth, newspaper pages, small assemblages and glue.

The images deviate from their original purpose, but they are still able to expand their meaning in order to express a feeling, an unexpected gesture, a word. The cut-out is free to find its not perfect fit, creating an alchemy of color and shape. A second life for forgotten paper, a second life perhaps also for the artist herself. Collage is free movement, it’s daring, it’s without borders, it’s curiosity. It is finding a new stimulating error that does not need to be corrected, because - as Matisse argued - "creativity requires courage," and can be an answer to many questions that do not have answer.

In this creative freedom is added the game of the viewer in seeking the hidden intention of the artist who has assembled the images, not always revealed by the title.

The exhibition MESSINCARTA collects works on canvas 60x50cm, without frame.
